Love the amazing food. I have been coming since I was born.
We stopped in for a weekday breakfast. Not crowded, looked like regulars enjoying themselves. I ordered eggs bacon and swedish pancakes. The eggs and bacon were good and the pancakes were very tasty. My sister ordered the blintzes. I tried hers and wished I had ordered that instead! Next time...
Excellent
Always good food, friendly people. The swedish pancakes are excellent. Cash only.
Not cheap but I don't care, it's really a feel good place
The best avacado bacon tomato swiss cheese on grilled sour dough sandwich! Super generous with the perfectly ripe avacado!
Good food! The best part is the Waite staff. Young, professional and very attentive.
Other reviews are partially correct. They do give you a lot of food. Unfortunately the food was awful. Everything just tastes cheap and old. Even the coffee. Pros: Nice staff. Very helpful and friendly. This place could clean up if they cut portion sizes and increased quality and freshness. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. :-(
What a hidden gem, loved it!
Food is always hot. Best eggs ever. Noreen, Claudia and the boys treat you like family.
Best Brunch in Alameda. ...Even better people running it.
Nice little Swedish diner. Not bad for brunch, but nothing to write home about.
Great quality breakfast spot with interesting but small menu. Old school atmosphere and management. Not a lot of these unique places left.
Very old school breakfast place. They make all sorts of good plates, but nothing fancy, just good food. I like it for breakfast and lunch
Great service, large portions and good food...👍🏿
Very good club sandwich. Quiet and cozy.
Homey diner that can be packed with locals for weekend breakfast. This place only takes cash or checks only, but they do have a small “ATM” in the store if you need the cash. We had the regular breakfast and coffee, with good service and cost us about $30 for two.
Marti's place is awesome the vibe there great is and the food as well. The customer service is excellent we come here often and always leave with a smile in our face!
Good food old fashioned service
Small, cozy place with brunch fare. Weekend daily specials board packed with so many choices you can't read the list from across the room because the print is too small. Two friends and I enjoyed a Sun breakfast there. I had a traditional eggs & bacon plate and was pleased to find real potatoes and crispy bacon. One friend enjoyed a mushroom & spinach omlette that was light, fluffy, and fresh. The other friend enjoyed two blueberry pancakes with so many sweet blueberries the usual pancake dressings of syrup and butter were optional. Marti's has two rooms; they clearly started in one space and expanded next door. Decor is local California. Single, but spacious, tidy, and tiled restroom.
Really good! I'm not going to lie, I thought at first this place only served coffee sort of like a Starbucks but it turns out that they have a delicious breakfast menu. The staff was super friendly and bent over backwards to make sure you got everything you needed.I will come back!
The food was amazing and the service was amazing! However choose from the menu with prices because ordering from the to go menu that didn't have the prices listed was apparently a mistake, because the price I paid for 2 "tomato-stuffed salads" were great salads and rather large but price was through the roof...although from the regular menu with prices the food was both great and the price was decent-ish.
Great avocado omelette
Good home cooking. Great omelettes.
This is an awesome small Family Diner. The waiters and waitresses are Top Notch and very attentive to your needs. They have a wide variety on their menu with very fresh ingredients. The only problem is it is cash only but if you plan for it that's no problem. Highly recommended
This location is cash only, but thankfully there's an ATM inside the location. Fantastic breakfast food, my personal go-to is the salmon omelet with dill sauce. Parking isn't available but it's located in a quiet area without much traffic.
Really nice place the food is amazing :3
Great spinach omelette!
Wonderful, locally owned place that is my favorite breakfast spot in Alameda
Old fashion charm in a fast paced modern world! Hamburger no fries available but their potato salad is a wonderful stand in
I loved there food it is really good.
we adore Marti's. been coming here for many years, our kids are probably 1/4 swedish pancakes and hot chocolate as a result. pricey but totally worth it.cash only but there's an ATM inside
Love little cafes like this. Local flair with nice service and tasty food.
Great food, friendly staff, local business in quiet part of town. Visiting from out state, worth the money!
The decor is nice the staff are warm and inviting and they have spectacular food Il
Nice atmosphere and very good food
Cute mom and pop breakfast spot with a family vibe. Food was made fresh and was served quickly. The pancakes were fluffy and melted in my mouth.
Usually, I have "The Hungry Swede" (Swedish pancakes, eggs, and bacon)...but I just can't get enough for f the pancakes! (I'll order a second round, they're so good!) Anyway, this is a great small-town kind of place, so go early before it fills up!
I ordered a short stack and a side of bacon and it was hot and delicious. You'd be surprised at some places that mess this up. They definitely got it right!!
Don't fall in to the reviews saying this place is good. It's not. Maybe it's because I went there on a Thursday but the place was horribly dead. The water served to us had the taste of stale ice so that was out of the question. The "Mexican omelette" special for $15 was Fritos chips, tube squeezed "guacamole" and way too much sour cream making the inside of the omelette a veritable mess of smush. I cannot imagine why other people would give this place 4 or 5 stars when there are so many better options within walking distance.
They have really good food. Very fast and great prices. Also the waiters are friendly and cute.
Yummy brunch. Swedish pancakes are a specialty, but all the breakfast food is good!
The staff was really friendly. It is a quaint little restaurant. As for price, quality and quantity I would say not well balanced. Also, they do not take cards, cash only. I know they are a mom and pop establishment but we rarely pay cash. Thank goodness we had some on hand.
Massive portions, tasty food and decent price.
If you want authentic Swedish pancakes, Marti's is the place. Served as they should be: rolled, buttered, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and a side of lingonberry sauce. The coffee is nothing to shout about, but you won't care about that when you taste those Swedish pancakes. Cash only (ATM on premises).
Sorry to say we caught food poisioning from an avacado sandwich. Stick to the fully cooked items.
Great local breakfast spot with hearty portions. I got the smoked salmon omelette, which was very filling.
Everything was delicious! And the coffee never stops!☕☕☕
I discovered Marti's over 20 years ago and love it. Anytime I am in town I stop by for breakfast (Swedish Pancakes). Heading there today. :)
Linda and I discovered Marti's Place -- Alameda's very first "green" restaurant -- when we moved to an apartment a block away in 2009. We have enjoyed breakfast there regularly ever since. Fast, friendly service and great eggs and pancakes: my faves are the spinach omelette and the Marti's Scram (which I prefer without the cheese). Remamber -- cash or checks only!
